Brazilian beef exporting is boost by Real Exchange rates, high beef sales prices of China, and sluggish economic conditions 70% of Uruguayan beef is exported. China is Uruguay’s largest exporter. This year’s inventory is about 210 million heads, mainly grazing in natural open-air fences.90% of Argentine beef is used for domestic digestion, and 55% of its land area is pasture. In recent years, the consumption of imported beef in China has been increasing year by year, and the wholesale price of beef in our country has also been running at a relatively high level. Imported beef enters our country one after another which has had a huge impact on domestic beef manufacturers and farmers. Why is the price of imported beef so cheap? we summarized some understanding of imported beef prices into the following points:

1. Domestic and foreign breeding cost issues

Most of the foreign cattle farms are natural farms, and the beef cattle are mostly raised on a large scale, and the beef cattle breeds are good, the technology level is high, and the feed price is cheap. During 2015, the global food harvest is in good condition, it reduces the cost of imported beef farmers directly. Then the wholesale price of imported beef is low as well in China.

2. Foreign eating habits issue

It may be an aspect that many beef wholesalers tend to overlook. In the United States, most of the Americans eat fried and grilled beef. Unlike China, we also likes to eat braised beef, SS ( SS is the muscle of the thigh, which is wrapped in fleshy membranes, has internal tendons and is of moderate hardness. Pattern rules, suitable for braised) is useless in the United States, and Americans basically do not use beef for braised. Therefore, they have to export the SS to other countries, and the price is relatively cheap. Of course,there are many other countries like this as well.

3. High degree of industrialization and large scale

Now let’s talk about the pastures. Australia is a country with a large area of natural grasslands in the world, reaching 458 million hm2. Natural pastures account for 55% of the country’s land area. How many cows can be raised! People have so much more free forage than us. Therefore, the cost of forage has dropped significantly.

Three main differences between imported beef and Chinese beef
1.Prodcution: Domestic beef is slaughtered and sold without deacidification. Foreign countries strictly control food safety and quality standards, especially meat products;
2.Feeding method: domestic retail households, small scale, high cost, poor breeding environment, and even some add feed containing additives. While the scale of foreign farms is very large, and the cattle are raised with purely natural pasture, vast grasslands, clean water, plenty of sunshine, and a unique growth . The growth process does not raised with any feed, the growth cycle is long,which makes meat tight ,meticulous,  and unique aroma of beef.
3.Price: Due to the large scale of foreign breeding, vast pastures,abundant water and soil resources, the production cost is very low. In addition, in recent years, tariffs on imported beef have been reduced year by year.The cost of importing foreign beef into the country is getting lower and lower, and the price of imported beef is only 2/3 of the price of domestic beef, or even lower.

Important notice issued by the National Health Commission : 

The National Health Commission has ordered meat processing plants in China to clearly identify the sources of their poultry and livestock meat and only accept imports that have obtained negative test results for the novel coronavirus.

Meat producers are also required to ramp up cleansing and disinfection of storage facilities, shipping vehicles, packaging and other equipment, the commission said in a guideline released on July 23th. 

Recently, meat processing companies in Europe and the United States such as Germany, the United Kingdom and other European and American countries have successively experienced cluster outbreak,The slaughter, segmentation, storage, packaging and other workplaces are mostly densely staffed low-temperature closed environments,there is a great risk of virus transmission.

To fend off the risk from overseas producers, the country has suspended meat imports from 23 foreign companies as of July 10,  according to the General Administration of Customs。

According to the guideline, meat producers in medium-to high-risk areas are required to take five samples each from their slaughtering, dissecting and packaging plants for nucleic acid tests daily. Those in low-risk areas are required to collect environmental samples for tests at least once a week.

orkers should stay at least 1 meter from each other on top of taking regular personal protective measures, including taking temperatures, wearing masks and washing hands frequently.

Facilities seeing confirmed infections will be shut down temporarily and workers identified as suspected cases or close contacts should undergo medical observations. Their workplaces or dormitories should also be locked down.

3."Entry animal and Plant Quarantine License of the people's Republic of China" and original HC are  required for edible animal 
and plant products that need pproval of Entry Animal and Plant Quarantine .
4.Chinese label recorded in advance, reviewed the Chinese label sample, the translation of the sample and other relevant documents are required for importing pre-packaged goods which need accept inspection and quarantine.

In order to ensure the safe supply of meat in the domestic market during the COVID-19 pandemic, the customs has taken various measures to expand imports. What procedures and precautions are required for the import declaration of frozen meat?

5.Appoint port and warehouse ,supervise and inspect at inspection sites,and import after passing the inspection and quarantine.

1.Enterprise need the rights for import and export
2.Enterprise must have recorded for  food consignees

4.Enterprise need the rights for the meat importing

1. Outside packaging
   1)clear,dry,mold-free,odorless and not easy to break
   2)No Iron material including for the carton,but including the label of the exported.
   3)Item,specification , original batch number , production date , expire date,storage tempreture,plant No., and destination
      marked China are should be write on the label in Chinese. 

2.Non-toxic and harmless new materials should be used for the inner packaging, and  origin, product name,item, plant No.,
batch number are marked on the inside label which should be same with out side label.

3.The packaging should not contain expressions such as "not suitable for human consumption", "for industrial use only" or 
"for feed use only" which indicates not for human consumption。
